How far is your sofa from the screen?
Your viewing distance sets the ideal screen diagonal — about 2.5–3× the picture height is the immersive sweet spot.
How bright is the room while watching?
Ambient light decides whether you need an ALR screen — strong light washes out a matte screen; an ALR (ambient-light-rejecting) screen keeps the contrast.
Pick your projector
Short-throw sits close on the cabinet; long-throw projects from farther back. Tabletop sits upright; ceiling mount hangs inverted (turn on image flip).
