What is the Optical Fresnel ALR Screen?

The Fresnel Ambient Light Rejection (ALR) screen uses Fresnel lens technology to elevate your viewing experience. It rejects up to 95% of ambient light, helping preserve image clarity and contrast in rooms with windows or ceiling lights. Whether it is a bright afternoon or a quiet evening, the screen helps reduce washed-out visuals and glare.

What makes NothingProjector's Fresnel Optical Screen different?

NothingProjector's Fresnel Optical Screen uses Fresnel PET material to efficiently manage ambient light and boost brightness gain, resulting in a clear and vibrant projected image in everyday viewing environments.

Is a higher screen gain always better?

Gain refers to how much brightness a screen reflects toward viewers compared with a white wall. Higher gain can increase brightness, but it can also narrow the optimal viewing angle. The best choice depends on your room, projector brightness and seating layout. This screen uses a 1.2 gain Fresnel surface to balance brightness, contrast and viewing comfort for UST setups.

How does this Fresnel screen compare with other premium Fresnel UST screens?

It delivers the core features buyers expect from a premium Fresnel UST screen — 95% ambient light rejection, 1.2 gain, a fixed-frame design and 4K UHD support — while the 100-inch model starts at the local-market price shown on this page. If you want premium Fresnel performance without a premium-brand markup, this is the best-value option in our lineup.

Is the NothingProjector Fresnel screen compatible with other ultra short throw laser projectors?

Yes. This Fresnel ALR screen is designed for ultra-short-throw projectors and is compatible with UST laser projectors from major brands.

Do I need a projection screen for the projector, or will a white wall suffice?

A smooth white wall can work in some cases, but wall paint, color and texture can affect color reproduction, contrast and image uniformity. A Fresnel ALR screen is designed to direct UST projector light toward viewers and reject ambient light, giving you a more consistent and higher-contrast image.

What size of projection screen should I buy?

Typically, the size of the projection screen should match the image size and viewing distance you prefer. For this model, 100 inches suits most living rooms and a viewing distance of about 2.8–3 meters, while 120 inches is better for larger rooms and a viewing distance of about 3.5–4 meters.

With so many aspect ratios for projection screens, how do I choose?

Most smart projectors output a 16:9 image, so a 16:9 screen is the best match for typical home theater and streaming use. This model is available in 16:9, with 4:3 and customized ratios also listed for compatible configurations.

Can I install the ALR screen myself?

Yes. You can follow the user manual or installation guide video to install it yourself. Typically, two people can complete the assembly and wall mounting in about 1–2 hours.

How do I choose between NothingProjector and Fscreen Fresnel screens?

NothingProjector Fresnel Screen: excellent value for money, effective at rejecting overhead lighting, and best suited for living rooms or bedrooms with low to moderate ambient light.Fscreen Screen: superior image quality, blocks both side and overhead light, and is ideal if you want the best performance at any time of day or night. The 120-inch model uses 4th-generation Fscreen Fresnel material.

Why Choose NothingProjector Fresnel ALR Screen

Optical structure diagram explaining how NothingProjector Fresnel ALR Screen works using light convergence to reject ambient light for UST laser projectors

How Fresnel ALR Screen Works

A Fresnel structure employs the principle of light convergence, similar to that of a concave mirror. It transforms a concave surface into a series of concentric circles, which are then flattened into a single plane. This configuration enables the precise focusing of light onto a particular point.

Amazing

Amaxing customer service. 100 on 100.
The screen arrived faster than anticipated, and looks and performs great.
I could not be happier.

The single problem was the instruction booklet that they supply with the screen.
Near impossible to follow with with too few illistrations and no clear instructions to follow.
I previously worked as a technical writer, and I would have gladly produced a proper instruction manual had it not taken me so long to assemble.
With a proper manual the set-up time would be cut by 75 percent.
If I find myself eventually ordering a larger 120 inch screen I'll definitely produce a proper instruction manual and pass it on to Nothing for other customers to take advantage of.
That being said, it was well worth the struggle to assemble.
I would recommend them to anyone.

Fresnel Optical Screen is 10x better every angle! The warranty they provided is amazing! Projection quality is amazing. I am settled on this one for next few years for sure! Price is just rite.. Glad I finalized on this one!

Fresnel screen is a game changer.

The screen was delivered in a super-secured package. The set has additional parts so you don't have to worry that you will ran out of screws, springs etc. The assembly isn't that hard but you need to take your time and be precise (I would suggest for the Nothing projector company to make the screens with higher margins- even 1-2cm extra on each side would make the assembly 50% easier)- because you can overstretch one side and lack material in the opposite. If you make this mistake you can correct it but you need to loosen and tighten all of the springs again. The picture quality on the other hand is Superb! Almost no difference in daylight/darkened room. Nothing projector fresnel screen is probably the best price per value screen on the market! The pictures don't give it justice but I'll post them anyway - the colours are spot on in real life, it's just hard take a picture of a fresnel screen with your mobile phone. Honest review - 5+/5!!!

Nice value for price

This worked as expected to. It comes with all you need to set it up either indoors. Perfect for my small projector for daily use in our living room. It hung well on the wall. You do have to make sure to pull it taught to get that perfect rectangle up on the wall. It's, definitely, an upgrade from viewing our projector on the wall. I can really get the 4K image out of my specific projector with this fabric screen. I think it's a great value for the price and it does everything it promises to. You just have to avoid simple user error. I can confidently recommend this
